We’re hiring an Assistant Commissary Manager in Denver!
The Assistant Commissary Manager will be responsible for managing commissary operations including setting daily production numbers, packing, and inventory. This role will assist the Commissary Manager to create an efficient work environment and make sure all Commissary orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. You will be responsible for supporting high operational standards by continuing to hold yourself and your team members to the provided checklists, recipe specs, and other standardized tools.

Your core responsibilities will be:
- Oversee the inventory of ingredients supplies needed for daily operations, ensuring stock levels are maintained, and reorders are placed on time to prevent shortages.
- Assist in overseeing food preparation according to recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and efficiency in production.
- Supervise and train kitchen and commissary staff on proper food preparation techniques, sanitation practices, and equipment handling, maintaining high standards of food safety.
- Ensure all commissary areas, including prep stations, storage rooms, and equipment, meet cleanliness and food safety standards, adhering to health department regulations.
- Ensure that all ingredients and supplies are prepared and packaged properly for both in-store and off-site orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in order completion.
- Track food waste, manage portion control, and assist in controlling costs by identifying opportunities to reduce waste, spoilage, and inefficiencies.
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and supplies, address any issues regarding quality or delivery, and help negotiate pricing and contracts when applicable.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of inventory, product usage, orders, and vendor transactions, providing regular reports to the Commissary Manager on stock levels, sales trends, and operational performance.

A day in the life of an Assistant Commissary Manager:
- Work with team to complete daily prep list, communicating with PM team any discrepancies
- Receive, accept, and record daily deliveries of supplies from all vendors
- Manage inventory and variances, and waste reports at the Commissary
- Work with commissary manager and supply chain manager to ensure all shifts are appropriately staffed with team members and supplies
- Manage relations with techs and repair workers who must visit location during working hours
- Maintain clean kitchen areas, to include daily cleaning tasks and weekly deep cleaning tasks
You’ll be a great addition to the CYM team if you:
- Demonstrate some knowledge of kitchen and baking operations
- Exhibit the ability and desire to learn and improve in their position
- Exhibit leadership skills and ability to motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Believe in a hands-on supervising style and be willing to lead by example
- Proficient written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient on computer software; can learn new software quickly.
- Food Safety Certification required (ServSafe Manager’s Certification)
Additional Requirements:
- A driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work at both of our Denver commissary locations
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work holidays and weekends
- Able to squat, bend, stoop, push and reach
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Able to read, write and effectively communicate
- Ability to have flexibility in schedule
- Ability to get to and from all shops via transportation of choice in a timely manner
